Alternate title: Youuuuuu're heeeere, there's noooothing I feeear~

Strangely enough, the sight of water quickly rising around you while you try desperately to salvage stuff in your office building was...amazing. I'd never experienced anything like it before. Yeah, it sucks, but...I dunno. During moments of stress like that my mind just kind of shuts down. I can't say I just stood there, but there was a lack of knowing what the fuck to do. xD I just went with whatever they (my officemates) were doing and carried whatever I could. Presence of mind? Hell, I think I had an absence of mind there. I didn't feel panic or anything. Not even fear. The only time I felt fear was when we were more or less dry and stuck on the second floor and the water still seemed to be rising. We didn't have a third floor, and we had an old man (our boss, who valiantly stayed with us like a good captain who goes down with his ship--er, office building) and half a dozen kids (my officemates' kids) with us. Thankfully the water stopped rising after a while, but it had already filled the entire first floor.

And then I had diarrhea the next day. Brilliant.

People all over Metro Manila probably got it worse, though. My aunt, for example, had to grab her kids (her own was around 4, and she had 2 more kids around the same age with her) and stay at the second floor of a school. The only stuff she can use after the flood is the frame of her bed and a tank of gas. I can't even imagine the trauma my poor cousins went through... My other cousins in Marikina are probably better off, since they say they're just cleaning their house now.
